Preschool Orientation

It's official, my baby is growing up. Noah has his first day of preschool...kind of. It was a day where we went and spent an hour with some of his classmates and his teacher. I wasn't emotional at all, I think I'm ready. I was so proud when he walked in and found his name on the door, then walked right in and after I introduced Noah to "Miss Dorothy," he walked right up and shook her hand and said, "Nice to meet you, Miss Dorfy." Not shy at all and used his manners and was polite. Yes, we practiced that a lot.

We spent our time exploring the room, and Noah loved it! He kept going up to Miss Dorthy and asking her questions and telling her how much he loved preschool already. He didn't want to leave, which is a good sign! It was fun getting to have that experience with him, and I'm so glad we made this choice for him. Noah is around a lot of adults who are loud, and loving, and bossy (in a helpful, teaching way), and teachers, and people who like to help him, and so on. Myself definitely included, because we all love him and want him to grown and learn! But his teacher and this school are so opposite. It's all about letting kids guide their own learning and having time and space to do just that. I think he's going to thrive. His teacher was the same teacher I worked with when I worked there, and hasn't changed a bit, though I think she's probably close to retirement. She is so quiet and soft-spoken and really asks a lot of great questions and gives lots of time for kids to think. I'm excited to go in the observation room and watch and learn how to better interact with him.

His first real day is on Tuesday, so I'll post pictures from his actual school then!

I didn't work there .... sorry girls I bet it was fun! Kami went there and I just loved it. Her teacher was "Teacher MaryEllen"
that is so funny you have "Teacher Dorthy". With out a doubt she is Fabulous. These ladies really bond with the kids that are special to them and steal their hearts. Kami still sees "Teacher MaryEllen" and still calls her that it is so funny now that she is 14. I am sure Noah has already made a great impression...not only is he a handsome little boy... he is respectful and charming and that is a great quality to have. Great parenting and way to go to Noah!!!
