I am a wife, mom, volleyball coach, nanny, and teacher! I spend my days taking care of the boys, working out, coaching, and subbing for local elementary schools...learning how to follow the Lord's leading for our lives.
We're getting ready for our trip tomorrow to Maui...it still doesn't seem real! We haven't packed or anything...but we're going to have a great time. We're trying to decide if this is our 5 year anniversary present, or Andrew's birthday present, or just a special trip that we've worked hard saving up for...but either way, we are excited for this chance to re-connect with eachother with no other distractions! Here's some of last year pictures;) Aloha!
We tried to go out to Sauvie's Island to do the big corn maze...we checked the weather, packed our rain gear and boots, and hoped for the best. As we were driving he had hope that the weather would hold off for us. A little blue sky, and light clouds. Then we pulled in. And it started pouring. So, we bundled up with good attitudes and headed out. It was wet, really muddy, and windy. We saw the animals, went to the farm store, and decided to skip the corn maze and quickly grab a pumpkin on our way out. Oh, and an elephant ear;) So, it wasn't quite the afternoon we had planned, but it was still fun, and full of different memories. I had visions of cute pictures in the corn maze, but we didn't even risk getting our camera out in the pouring rain! Noah was VERY in to carving the pumpkin and had a great time doing it with Dad!
Once a month, there is a playgroup that meets up at the barn. It's the coolest. place. ever. There's anything you could want for your kids to do, especially on rainy days! Full basketball/volleyball court, indoor track, full play structure for kids, rock climbing with foam pit, and a nice outdoor area. We always have fun there and my kids ask all the time to go back!
Noah falling in the foam pit...
Isn't that beautiful?
Abby on the swing!
Bode and Jakey in the balls...
Bode wanted me to take his picture after he was a good ways up the wall;)
Here are some random pictures, I've been working this weekend ordering prints, canvases, and filling our wall with frames! It felt so good to wake up this morning to a finished project that we've been planning for a year! Well...almost finished...I have the frames up and all the prints and canvases ordered. The prints are going to be done in an hour and the canvases will be here when we get back from Hawaii. We were going to take our family pictures last year around this time, then kept pushing it back a few months for different reasons...braces, money, weight...but I'm so glad that we waited until our kids are the age that they are at. They'll only get easier every year;)
Our photographer did a FABULOUS job! I am so happy, and would definitely recommend her to anyone in the Portland area. She spent so much time answering a million questions I had before hand, helping us choose different locations, and was so patient with a few grumpy people on picture day, and took just the kind of photo's I wanted! We got almost 200 edited pictures (that's crazy!) for $200! Then I could order any pictures I wanted in every size (we just did Costco because it's so cheap and fast). And can you really put a price on the value of pictures? I love pictures and the memories that they hold, and now we'll have great pictures to remember this time in our lives!
All the pictures are up on my facebook, but there are a lot, it was easier just to upload the whole album then go through and choose some;) I'll post some more another time!
My mom's birthday is this week, so we celebrated last night. I was gone for most of the day, so Andrew did everything! He made a traditional spanish meal that his mom makes, so yummy! I'm so thankful to have my mom in my life...she is always such a blessing in many ways. I don't know how we would have made it through the last few years if it weren't for all her help! Love you, mom;)
Doesn't she look awesome!
I just had to throw these in here...these are from the tomatoes we picked a few days ago. We get this many tomatoes every few days...it's crazy! I think it's going to slow down now though...good thing because we don't know what else to do with all of them!
